A grand goes on its long side on a padded skid board; the pedals, lyre, and three legs come off one at a time while the crew holds the weight, and each part rides wrapped. Stairs add to the price, and on a no-driveway rowhouse block we post the No-Parking sign, all quoted in writing first.

How the piano gets handled on move day

Usually the piano moves with the household, sharing the truck with the sofa and bedroom set and wrapped by the same crew. Since the pedal mechanism, lyre, legs, and soundboard are the most delicate and costly parts, we measure the path first, protect the floors, and pad the door casings. It rides under our $1M cargo coverage like everything else, and after delivery it needs two to four weeks before a technician tunes it.
